First Business’ Enterprising Nonprofits Event to Take Place in Madison June 2, 2017

MADISON, WI – March 14, 2017 – First Business is pleased to partner with United Way of Dane County to bring Enterprising NONPROFITS to Madison. Enterprising NONPROFITS is an annual all-day interactive conference that allows for-profit and nonprofit business leaders, executive directors, business development directors and volunteer coordinators to collaborate and share best practices. The concept of this event has been proven for the last three years in Appleton, Wisconsin, drawing over 1,000 attendees.

As popularity grew, an interest sparked for the event to be hosted in Madison to serve South Central Wisconsin nonprofits and trade associations. “We approached United Way of Dane County about the value of doing this conference. I was delighted to find they were 100% behind this idea. Our mutual goal is to help build a stronger community through providing education and opportunities for collaboration among the many Non-Profits and Trade Associations of South Central Wisconsin” stated Beth Korth, Senior Vice President at First Business Bank.

Ho-Chunk’s Dan Brown Elected to Chamber Board of Directors

MADISON – Today the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce announced the election of Dan Brown, Executive Manager of Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison, to its board of directors. Brown joins 48 current business and community leaders representing a broad cross-section of the Greater Madison economy on the Chamber board.

Dan Brown has worked for the Ho-Chunk Nation for more than 23 years and has been the Executive Manager of Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison since 2000. He also served a four-year term as an elected legislator for the Ho-Chunk Nation from 2007 to 2011 and was subsequently elected to serve as Vice President by the Legislature.

“Seats on the Chamber board do not open up very often. In fact, this year there is only one seat available, and the board wanted to seize this opportunity as a way to honor and recognize the Ho-Chunk Nation’s rich history and vital role in building this community,” said Chamber President Zach Brandon. “Dan Brown’s experience and business perspective will be a tremendous asset to the Chamber board, and we look forward to working with him as we write the next chapter in Greater Madison’s story.”

MADISON – Today the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced its endorsements for the Madison Common Council elections taking place April 4. With representation from many prominent and emerging companies throughout Greater Madison, an endorsement from the 48-member Chamber board signals a candidate’s strength on business issues and vision to grow Greater Madison’s economy.

The Chamber’s endorsement decisions closely mirror candidates endorsed by the Building Trades of South Central Wisconsin.
