Overture Center’s National Geographic Live Series Returns for 2016/17 Season

Exact Sciences’ Sponsored Series kicks off September 20 with Chasing Rivers Lecture by Pete McBride

Madison, Wis. –  Overture Center’s National Geographic Live series returns to Capitol Theater Tuesday, September 20, 2016, featuring native Coloradan Pete McBride, who has spent almost two decades studying the world with his camera. During this lecture, McBride will share images and film clips from his source-to-sea journeys down two of the world’s greatest rivers: the Colorado and the Ganges.

Named a “freshwater hero” by National Geographic for his work photographing and filming great rivers, has worked in over 70 countries, photographing from the cockpit of a WWI-vintage biplane and the underside of an iceberg.

A self-taught, award-winning photographer, filmmaker and writer, McBride has traveled on assignment to over 60 countries for the publications of the National Geographic Society, Smithsonian, Outside, Men’s Journal, Esquire, STERN and many others.

Featured in the NGM September 2016 Issue: Are We Losing the Grand Canyon?, McBride brings his perspective on capturing water-related stories, which led American Photo Magazine to list McBride as “one of the top five water photographers” in the nation.
