Overture Moves Madison’s Outdoor Concerts Indoors with MadCity Sessions
The 2016/17 MadCity Sessions line-up, still free to the public, to perform in Capitol Theater
Madison, Wis. – Overture Center’s 2016/17 MadCity Sessions returns for another season of free concerts, now live from the Capitol Theater stage. Each date will feature two local bands at 7:30 p.m. with an option add on a pre-show Get Social mixer to meet the bands at 6:30 p.m.
“The move to Capitol Theater will really contribute to the artist development aspect of MadCity Sessions,” commented Tim Sauers, Overture’s VP of Programming and Community Engagement. “We’re proud to provide these artists with a great quality venue, technicians and concert experience unique to this caliber of venue.”

Wheelhouse & The People Brothers Band | Thursday, November 17, 7:30 p.m.
Wheelhouse is a nationally touring Americana and bluegrass band hailing from Madison. Featuring three and four part harmonies, fiddle and guitar leads, and driving rhythm of the upright bass Wheelhouse brings an energy and attitude unique to themselves.
The People Brothers Band is an 8-piece Rhythm & Soul powerhouse and their only desire is to get you moving on the dance floor. They are the winners of the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Award for 2014 Soul/R&B Band of the Year and the Madison Area Music Award for 2015 Pop/R&B Album of the Year.
Oh My Love & Modern Mod | Thursday, January 12, 2017, 7:30 p.m.
Oh My Love (OML) is an up and coming Electronic Pop duo. OML’s sound is driven by powerfully atmospheric vocals, haunting harmonies, driving synth, and heavy-hitting, hip-hop, electronic beats.
Coming back together for one night only. The recently disbanded Modern Mod is made up of four offbeat personalities. Comprised of an ex ballerina, a child basketball prodigy, a poetic introvert, and a giant blonde boy, Modern Mod is one of Madison’s leading teen pop rock bands.

Singer/songwriter Lo Marie combines her operatic training with a passion for jazz music and has found a unique voice in the musical world. Her album, Solid Ground won Jazz Album of the Year at the 2015 MAMA Awards.
Grupo Candela is an epic Latino big-band includes 12 members, performing the many styles of Latin music including Salsa Dura, Merengue, Bachata and Cumbia. Get ready to jump to your feet and dance to this high-energy music. Sponsored by UW Health & Unity Health Insurance.
