The March of Dimes in Madison is looking for highly motivated and dependable intern for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters and for Summer 2017. This is an exciting opportunity for Communications, Marketing, Business or Health Science students to gain a general understanding of the not-for-profit arena through an internship with the March of Dimes, a national research and advocacy organization whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs or research, community services, and advocacy to save babies. Interns have the opportunity to gain experience in the disciplines of leadership, fundraising, communications, marketing, special event coordination and administrative support.
Qualifications: Positive attitude and excellent communication skills a must. Outgoing personality and enthusiastic with every project undertaken. Willingness to network with companies and organizations while spreading the mission of the March of Dimes. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and learn to use in-house designed software. Commitment to a minimum of 15 hours per week. Special Requirements: Transportation is necessary. Ability to work weekends when needed for assistance with events. May involve lifting and carrying a variety of different materials.
Preferred: Previous data entry, customer service, graphic design, social media and volunteer experience a plus.
