Catholic Charities is pleased to announce Derrick Smith as their new Director of Strategic Planning and Special Projects. Derrick will support the President/CEO, COO, and senior management with ongoing management and improvements of the strategic planning process, including opportunities for new strategic initiatives.
He has a degree in Biochemistry and was an Area Manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific, working in scientific sales and marketing for over 30 years and served on the Advisory Board of the Wisconsin Institutes of Discovery (WID).
More recently Derrick was the Start-up and Business Development Manager for One City Early Learning Centers and currently serves as the Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors of the Urban League of Greater Madison. He is also one of the chapter founders and current Board member of The 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc., and is the President of the Madison Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
